Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 19 countries across Asia and Africa, today announced that it has crossed the 5 million customers mark in Bangladesh - becoming the fastest growing mobile services operator in the country. With this, airtel Bangladesh will continue to strengthen its network reach in the country and stay committed towards contributing to the growth of telecom in Bangladesh through affordable services. In January 2010, Bharti had acquired 70 percent stake in Warid Telecom and subsequently launched brand airtel in Bangladesh in December 2010.
