NTT DOCOMO Announces 10-year Green Vision

NTT DOCOMO, INC. announced today a new 10-year environmental vision under which the DOCOMO Group intends to help lower carbon footprints, strengthen recycling and protect biodiversity, including cutting its fiscal 2020 carbon footprint to less than 90 percent of the group’s fiscal 2008 level.

DOCOMO’s eco-minded plan is based on the environmental vision that the NTT Group announced in November 2010. DOCOMO is now completing a previous vision that was announced in 2007, under which the company expects to achieve all final targets by the end of the current fiscal year ending this March 31.

PCCW Global and Kenya Data Networks introduce 1st HD Video Conferencing solution connecting USA, UK, Hong Kong and Kenya

PCCW Global Limited, a subsidiary of Hong Kong's premier telecommunications provider, PCCW Limited, and Kenya Data Networks (KDN), Kenya's leading full service data communications carrier, have successfully conducted the first High-Definition Video Conferencing (HDVC) connecting the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Kenya.

The link-up is the first HDVC live demonstration connecting Kenya to multiple destinations outside of Africa. The demonstration has been made possible by the interconnected MPLS VPN networks between PCCW Global and KDN. High-level executives from key industries in Kenya are invited to the demonstration to witness the benefits that HDVC solutions can bring to business operations.

bharti airtel, India’s largest telecommunications company, today announced the launch of its 3G service in India - bringing the airtel internet experience on 3G first to Karnataka - its largest circle by revenue market share. airtel is targeting to launch in all 13 3G license circles by March 2011. airtel introduces easy-to-understand intuitive 3G tariffs with personalised data usage limits. airtel 3G customers will be empowered to manage their 3G data usage alert and prevent ‘bill shock’ with proactive, personalized and timely data usage alerts.
