ACMA to auction 2.3 GHz licenses in July 2011

The Australian Communications and Media Authority will auction licences in mid-July for residual lots in the 2.3 GHz band in regional and remote areas of Australia. The auction is the result of the ACMA making spectrum available in the 2.3 GHz band in April 2011.

The auction will be held on 13 July 2011, at the ACMA’s Canberra office, Purple Building, Benjamin Offices, Chan Street, Belconnen. The registered applicants for the auction are NBN Co Limited, Telstra Corporation Limited and BKAL Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Unwired Australia Pty Ltd. The first auction is expected to commence at 10:00 am.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the auction. However, only registered applicants may bid for the available licences.
